The World Team League (WTL) 2023 Summer season is in full swing, with teams from around the world competing in exciting matches. As we head into Week 4, let’s take a look back at some of the highlights from Week 3 and preview what’s to come.
Week 3 Recap:
In the East Division, the Chinese team, Dragon Phoenix Gaming (DPG), continued their dominance with a 3-0 sweep over the Korean team, Afreeca Freecs. DPG’s star player, Zest, showed off his skills with impressive victories over Afreeca’s Trap and Cure.
In the West Division, the European team, mousesports, secured a 3-1 victory over the North American team, Alpha X. Mousesports’ Reynor and ShoWTimE both had strong performances, winning two matches each to secure the win for their team.
Week 3 also saw some exciting individual matches, including a nail-biting series between the Korean team, T1, and the European team, Team Liquid. T1’s TY and Team Liquid’s Clem went head-to-head in a back-and-forth series that ultimately ended in a 2-1 victory for TY.
Week 4 Preview:
In the East Division, DPG will face off against the Taiwanese team, Alpha X. DPG will be looking to continue their undefeated streak, while Alpha X will be hoping to pull off an upset. The match between T1 and Afreeca Freecs will also be one to watch, as both teams are currently tied for second place in the division.
In the West Division, mousesports will take on the North American team, Shopify Rebellion. Mousesports will be looking to maintain their spot at the top of the division, while Shopify Rebellion will be hoping to climb up from their current fourth place position. The match between Team Liquid and the Latin American team, All-In Esports, will also be one to watch, as both teams are currently tied for second place in the division.
Overall, Week 3 of WTL 2023 Summer provided some exciting matches and showcased the skills of some of the world’s top StarCraft II players. As we head into Week 4, fans can expect more thrilling matches and intense competition as teams battle it out for a spot in the playoffs.
