Air Canada and CAE, two of the world’s leading aviation companies, have recently announced the eight recipients of the 2023 Captain Judy Cameron Scholarship for Aspiring Women in Aviation. The scholarship was created to honor the legacy of Captain Judy Cameron, who was the first female captain of a commercial airliner in Canada. The eight recipients of the 2023 Captain Judy Cameron Scholarship are:
-Kathryn MacKay, a student at the University of Toronto studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Karen Wiebe, a student at the University of British Columbia studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Diana Gomes, a student at the University of Alberta studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Kaitlyn O’Brien, a student at the University of Manitoba studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Tara Smith, a student at the University of Saskatchewan studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Samantha Miller, a student at the University of Calgary studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Emily White, a student at the University of Ottawa studying Aerospace Engineering.
-Rachel Jones, a student at the University of Waterloo studying Aerospace Engineering.
The scholarship will provide each recipient with $5,000 to cover tuition and other expenses related to their studies. The recipients will also receive mentorship from Air Canada and CAE employees and will have access to exclusive networking opportunities.
