airBaltic and Delta Air Lines announce new codeshare cooperation

airBaltic, the Latvian national airline, and Delta Air Lines, one of the largest airlines in the United States, have recently announced a new codeshare cooperation. This partnership aims to enhance connectivity between the Baltic region and the United States, providing passengers with more travel options and seamless connections.

Under this codeshare agreement, airBaltic will place its code on Delta’s flights between Riga, the capital of Latvia, and three major U.S. cities: New York, Boston, and Atlanta. This will allow airBaltic passengers to book a single ticket for their entire journey, including both the airBaltic and Delta flights. Additionally, airBaltic customers will benefit from access to Delta’s extensive network in the United States, enabling them to reach numerous destinations beyond the initial gateway cities.

Similarly, Delta Air Lines will place its code on airBaltic’s flights between Riga and several European cities, such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm. This will provide Delta’s customers with convenient connections to the Baltic region and other parts of Europe.

The codeshare cooperation between airBaltic and Delta Air Lines is expected to significantly improve travel options for both business and leisure travelers. Passengers will enjoy the convenience of booking their entire journey with a single airline, eliminating the need for separate bookings and potentially reducing travel costs. Moreover, this partnership will streamline the check-in process and baggage handling, ensuring a smoother travel experience for passengers.

Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic, expressed his excitement about this new cooperation, stating that it will strengthen airBaltic’s position as the leading airline in the Baltic region. He emphasized that this partnership with Delta Air Lines will provide passengers with more flexibility and connectivity options when traveling between Europe and the United States.

Similarly, Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta Air Lines, highlighted the benefits of this codeshare agreement for Delta’s customers. He mentioned that the partnership with airBaltic will expand Delta’s reach in Europe, allowing passengers to explore new destinations and experience the unique culture and history of the Baltic region.

The codeshare cooperation between airBaltic and Delta Air Lines is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022, subject to regulatory approvals. Both airlines are committed to providing high-quality service and ensuring a seamless travel experience for their customers.

In conclusion, the new codeshare cooperation between airBaltic and Delta Air Lines is set to enhance connectivity between the Baltic region and the United States. This partnership will offer passengers more travel options, seamless connections, and the convenience of booking their entire journey with a single airline. With this collaboration, airBaltic and Delta aim to provide an improved travel experience for their customers and strengthen their positions in their respective markets.
