Announcement: DENSO Introduces Organizational and Executive Alterations

DENSO, a leading global automotive supplier, has recently announced significant organizational and executive alterations aimed at enhancing its operational efficiency and strengthening its position in the industry. These changes reflect DENSO’s commitment to adapt to the evolving market dynamics and drive innovation in the automotive sector.

One of the key alterations is the establishment of a new division called the Electrification and Mobility Systems Business Group. This division will focus on developing advanced technologies and solutions for electric vehicles (EVs) and other mobility systems. With the growing demand for EVs and the increasing emphasis on sustainable transportation, this move demonstrates DENSO’s dedication to staying at the forefront of the industry’s transformation.

To lead this new division, DENSO has appointed Hirotsugu Takeuchi as the Executive Vice President. Takeuchi brings a wealth of experience to this role, having previously served as the Senior Executive Director of DENSO’s Powertrain Systems Business Group. His expertise in powertrain systems will be instrumental in driving the development of innovative electrification technologies.

In addition to the establishment of the Electrification and Mobility Systems Business Group, DENSO has also made changes to its existing divisions. The Powertrain Systems Business Group will now be renamed as the Powertrain Systems Control Division, emphasizing its focus on developing advanced control technologies for powertrain systems. This alteration aligns with DENSO’s strategy to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions in internal combustion engines.

Furthermore, DENSO has created a new division called the Advanced Safety Systems Business Group. This division will concentrate on developing cutting-edge safety technologies, including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving solutions. As the automotive industry moves towards autonomous vehicles, DENSO aims to play a pivotal role in ensuring safer and more reliable transportation.

To lead the Advanced Safety Systems Business Group, DENSO has appointed Hiroyuki Wakabayashi as the Executive Vice President. Wakabayashi has extensive experience in the field of safety systems, having previously served as the Senior Executive Director of DENSO’s Safety Systems Business Group. His leadership will be crucial in driving the development of innovative safety technologies that meet the evolving needs of the market.

These organizational and executive alterations highlight DENSO’s commitment to innovation and its determination to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the rapidly changing automotive landscape. By establishing dedicated divisions for electrification, powertrain control, and advanced safety systems, DENSO aims to accelerate the development of cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of mobility.

DENSO’s CEO, Koji Arima, expressed his confidence in these alterations, stating, “We believe that these changes will enable us to better respond to the evolving needs of our customers and contribute to a sustainable and connected future. By focusing on electrification, powertrain control, and advanced safety systems, we are positioning DENSO as a leader in the automotive industry.”

With these organizational and executive alterations, DENSO is poised to strengthen its position as a global leader in automotive technology. By investing in advanced technologies and solutions, DENSO aims to drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to a greener and safer future of mobility.
