Capcom Discusses Plans to Bring Resident Evil Village to PSVR 2 and Future Developments

Capcom, the renowned video game developer, has recently revealed its plans to bring Resident Evil Village to the upcoming PlayStation VR 2. The announcement was made during the company’s latest financial results briefing, where Capcom discussed its future plans and developments.

Resident Evil Village, the eighth installment in the popular Resident Evil franchise, was released in May 2021 for various platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game received critical acclaim for its immersive gameplay, stunning visuals, and captivating storyline. Now, Capcom aims to take the game’s experience to the next level by bringing it to the highly anticipated PlayStation VR 2.

According to Capcom’s spokesperson, the company is “looking into” the possibility of bringing Resident Evil Village to PlayStation VR 2. The spokesperson further added that Capcom is “excited about the potential” of the new VR system and is “exploring how Resident Evil Village can leverage its features.”

PlayStation VR 2 is expected to launch sometime in 2022 and is rumored to feature significant upgrades over its predecessor. The new VR system is said to have better resolution, wider field of view, and improved tracking technology. These enhancements will undoubtedly enhance the immersive experience of playing Resident Evil Village in VR.

Capcom’s decision to bring Resident Evil Village to PlayStation VR 2 is not surprising, given the success of its previous VR title, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game was released in 2017 and was praised for its terrifying atmosphere and immersive gameplay. It was also one of the first major titles to support PlayStation VR, which helped boost the popularity of the VR system.

Apart from Resident Evil Village, Capcom also discussed its future plans and developments during the financial results briefing. The company revealed that it has several new titles in development, including some unannounced projects. Capcom also stated that it plans to focus on expanding its existing franchises while also exploring new IPs.

One of the most anticipated upcoming titles from Capcom is the remake of Resident Evil 4. The game, which was originally released in 2005, is considered one of the best games in the franchise and is widely regarded as a classic. The remake is expected to feature significant improvements over the original, including updated graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, and new content.

In conclusion, Capcom’s plans to bring Resident Evil Village to PlayStation VR 2 is an exciting development for fans of the franchise and VR gaming. The new VR system’s enhanced features will undoubtedly provide a more immersive experience for players, making the game even more terrifying and thrilling. Additionally, Capcom’s future plans and developments indicate that the company is committed to delivering high-quality games and expanding its reach in the gaming industry.
