While X-ray astronomy has primarily focused on studying celestial objects, its applications are not limited to space exploration. In an unexpected twist, researchers have found a potential use for heat pumps in pothole prevention.

Potholes are a common nuisance on roads, caused by the expansion and contraction of water within pavement cracks due to temperature changes.
