MSDUK, the UK’s leading non-profit organization supporting ethnic minority businesses, has announced the finalists for its Innovation Challenge 2021. The competition aims to provide a platform for startups to showcase their innovative ideas and solutions, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.

The Innovation Challenge received over 100 applications from startups across the UK, with a diverse range of ideas and solutions. The finalists were selected based on their potential impact, scalability, and innovation.

The finalists for the Innovation Challenge 2021 are:

1. Aceleron – A company that develops and manufactures sustainable lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

2. Briteyellow – A company that provides indoor positioning and navigation solutions using augmented reality and machine learning.

3. Cognitiv+ – A company that uses artificial intelligence to automate legal contract analysis and management.

4. Dsposal – A company that provides a digital platform for waste management, connecting waste producers with licensed waste carriers.

5. E-Fundamentals – A company that provides e-commerce analytics and insights to help brands optimize their online sales.

6. Focal Point VR – A company that provides virtual reality training solutions for emergency services and other high-risk industries.

7. Inclusive Boards – A company that provides diversity and inclusion consultancy services to organizations.

8. Koolskools – A company that produces ethical and sustainable school uniforms using organic cotton and fair trade practices.

9. Mynurva – A company that provides online mental health support and therapy services.

10. Senergy Innovations – A company that develops and manufactures energy-efficient lighting solutions for commercial and industrial buildings.

The finalists will now have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges at the MSDUK Virtual Conference on September 22nd, 2021. The winner of the Innovation Challenge will receive a cash prize of £10,000, as well as access to MSDUK’s network of corporate partners and investors.

The Innovation Challenge is an important initiative for promoting diversity and inclusion in the startup ecosystem. Ethnic minority entrepreneurs often face significant barriers to accessing funding and support, and initiatives like the Innovation Challenge can help to level the playing field.
