New Mexico Destinations Career Academy’s Class of 2023 Graduation Celebrated by Stride Learning

The New Mexico Destinations Career Academy’s Class of 2023 recently celebrated their graduation with a virtual ceremony hosted by Stride Learning. The event was a culmination of years of hard work and dedication by the students, teachers, and staff of the online school.

Destinations Career Academy is a tuition-free online public school that offers students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while also gaining valuable career skills. The school is part of the Stride Learning family of schools, which includes over 70 online and blended schools across the United States.

The Class of 2023 consisted of 60 graduates from across New Mexico, each with their own unique story and path to graduation. Some students had been with the school since their freshman year, while others had joined later in their high school career. Despite these differences, all of the graduates shared a common goal: to earn their high school diploma and prepare for their future careers.

The virtual graduation ceremony was a fitting tribute to the hard work and perseverance of the Class of 2023. The event featured speeches from school administrators, teachers, and students, as well as a keynote address from Stride Learning CEO James Rhyu.

In his address, Rhyu praised the graduates for their resilience and determination in the face of unprecedented challenges. “You have shown us what it means to be truly resilient,” he said. “You have overcome obstacles that no one could have predicted, and you have emerged stronger and more determined than ever.”

The ceremony also included a special recognition of the school’s valedictorian and salutatorian, as well as a slideshow featuring photos of the graduates throughout their time at Destinations Career Academy.

For many of the graduates, the virtual ceremony was a bittersweet moment. While they were proud to have earned their diplomas and excited for what the future holds, they also felt a sense of loss at not being able to celebrate in person with their classmates and teachers.

Despite these challenges, the Class of 2023 can take pride in their accomplishments and look forward to a bright future. With the skills and knowledge they have gained at Destinations Career Academy, they are well-equipped to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
