Shenzhou-15 Astronauts from China Complete Second Secretive Spacewalk

On August 22nd, 2020, two Chinese astronauts completed a second secretive spacewalk outside the Shenzhou-15 spacecraft. The two astronauts, Nie Haisheng and Fei Junlong, were part of the Chinese space mission that launched on October 17th, 2020. This mission marked the first time China has sent two astronauts into space on a single mission.

The spacewalk lasted for 6 hours and 28 minutes, during which the astronauts conducted several scientific experiments and maintenance tasks. The astronauts tested new space suits and conducted experiments on the effects of space radiation on the human body. They also tested new tools and techniques for extravehicular activity (EVA) in space.

This mission is part of China’s ambitious space exploration program, which includes plans to build a space station and send a spacecraft to the moon. The Shenzhou-15 mission is part of this larger program, and its success is a major step forward for China’s space program.

The secretive nature of the mission has raised some eyebrows in the international community. China has not released much information about the mission, and the spacewalk was not broadcast live. This has led some to speculate that China is using its space program for military purposes.

However, China has denied these claims and insists that its space program is purely for peaceful purposes. The Chinese government has stated that the secrecy of the mission was necessary to protect the astronauts’ safety and to ensure the success of the mission.

The success of the Shenzhou-15 mission is a major milestone for China’s space program, and it is likely to be followed by more ambitious missions in the future. China is quickly becoming a major player in the international space race, and its success in this mission is a testament to its capabilities in this field.
