The Chelsea Curse is named after Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. It is believed that any network that employs Chelsea Clinton or features her in a prominent role will suffer from a series of unfortunate events and setbacks.

NBC, one of the three networks affected by the curse, experienced its fair share of troubles when Chelsea Clinton joined the network as a special correspondent in 2011.
