“U.S. Quantum Information Science Summer School Invites Applications with April 28 Deadline”

The field of quantum information science is rapidly growing and has the potential to revolutionize the way we process and transmit information. To help train the next generation of quantum scientists, the U.S. Quantum Information Science Summer School is now accepting applications for its 2021 program.

The summer school is a two-week program that provides graduate students and postdoctoral researchers with an intensive introduction to the field of quantum information science. The program covers a wide range of topics, including quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing, and quantum materials.

The summer school is organized by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science and is hosted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. The program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are currently enrolled in a graduate program or who have recently completed a Ph.D. in a related field.

The application deadline for the 2021 program is April 28, 2021. Applicants are required to submit a CV, a statement of interest, and two letters of recommendation. The selection process is highly competitive, and only a limited number of participants will be accepted.

The summer school provides participants with a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field of quantum information science. The program includes lectures, hands-on tutorials, and group projects that allow participants to apply their knowledge to real-world problems.

In addition to the academic program, the summer school also provides participants with opportunities to network with other researchers in the field and to explore career opportunities in academia, industry, and government.

The U.S. Quantum Information Science Summer School is part of a broader effort by the DOE to advance the field of quantum information science. In 2018, the DOE launched the Quantum Information Science-Enabled Discovery (QuantISED) program, which aims to accelerate the development of quantum technologies.

Quantum information science has the potential to revolutionize many fields, including cryptography, drug discovery, and materials science. The U.S. Quantum Information Science Summer School is an excellent opportunity for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to gain the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to this exciting field.

In conclusion, the U.S. Quantum Information Science Summer School is an excellent opportunity for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to gain a comprehensive introduction to the field of quantum information science. With the application deadline approaching on April 28, interested individuals should act quickly to submit their applications and take advantage of this unique opportunity.
