Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office recently announced the arrests of four individuals for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to smuggle methamphetamine and marijuana into the Lee County Jail. The investigation, which began in August of 2019, uncovered that the four suspects were allegedly working together to bring the illegal substances into the jail. <\/p>\n
The four suspects, who have been identified as Robert Johnson, 23, of Fort Myers, Florida; Christopher Johnson, 24, of Lehigh Acres, Florida; Roberta Johnson, 25, of Fort Myers; and William Johnson, 26, of Lehigh Acres, were arrested on November 15th and charged with Conspiracy to Introduce Contraband into a Detention Facility. <\/p>\n
The investigation began after the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office received information that the four suspects were attempting to smuggle methamphetamine and marijuana into the jail. The Sheriff\u2019s Office then launched an undercover operation to investigate the allegations. During the operation, undercover detectives were able to purchase methamphetamine and marijuana from the suspects. <\/p>\n
The investigation concluded with the arrest of the four suspects. All four suspects are currently being held in the Lee County Jail without bond. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison. <\/p>\n
