BOC-Clark Surrenders P120M Worth of Marijuana By-Products to PDEA

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) in Clark, Pampanga has surrendered P120 million worth of marijuana by-products to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on July 28, 2021. The marijuana by-products were seized by the BOC-Clark in a series of operations in 2020 and early 2021.

The marijuana by-products included 2,000 kilograms of marijuana stalks, 1,000 kilograms of marijuana stems, and 200 kilograms of marijuana seeds. These by-products are considered illegal drugs under Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The surrender of the marijuana by-products is part of the BOC’s commitment to support the government’s campaign against illegal drugs. The BOC has been working closely with the PDEA and other law enforcement agencies to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the country and to apprehend those involved in drug trafficking.

The BOC-Clark has been actively conducting anti-drug operations in the past years. In 2019, the BOC-Clark seized P1.8 billion worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride. In 2020, the BOC-Clark intercepted P2.4 billion worth of shabu hidden inside tea bags.

The BOC-Clark’s efforts in preventing the entry of illegal drugs into the country have been recognized by the government. In 2020, the BOC-Clark received a commendation from President Rodrigo Duterte for its successful anti-drug operations.

The surrender of the marijuana by-products is a significant achievement for the BOC-Clark and the PDEA. It sends a strong message to drug traffickers that the government is serious in its campaign against illegal drugs and that law enforcement agencies are working together to apprehend those involved in drug trafficking.

The BOC-Clark and the PDEA will continue to work together to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the country and to apprehend those involved in drug trafficking. The surrender of the marijuana by-products is just one of the many successes that the BOC-Clark and the PDEA have achieved in their fight against illegal drugs.
